Nassau County executive Laura Callan has begun quarantine for 10 days after being exposed to a person infected with the coronavirus on Wednesday night, officials said.
Officials said the 53-year-old Karan felt good and would be tested for the coronavirus as recommended by health officials.
Callan attended several public events on Wednesday, including a vaccine briefing at the University of Nassau Medical Center.
For privacy reasons, authorities did not reveal where she was exposed.
Her quarantine period will end on January 22nd until test results are available.
Other members of her administration have not been exposed, a spokesman said.
A spokeswoman said she would work remotely and continue to perform her duties from Baldwin’s home.
